★★★★★ - "We recently had our driveway replaced by Town & Country Asphalt in Montgomery County, and the entire experience exceeded our expectations. From the first consultation to the final rollout, their team was professional, punctual, and clearly experienced. They took the time to explain the process, answered all of our questions, and made sure everything was properly prepared before starting. The crew worked efficiently and kept the area clean throughout the project. The finished driveway looks fantastic—smooth, even, and installed with real attention to detail. What really stood out was their communication and reliability. They showed up when they said they would, kept us informed, and delivered exactly what was promised. If you’re looking for a trustworthy asphalt company that does high-quality work, I’d absolutely recommend Town and Country Asphalt. We’re very happy with the results."

Blacktop vs Asphalt
What is blacktop anyway, and is it any different from asphalt? Both asphalt and blacktop are made from two primary ingredients: crushed stone and bitumen, a petroleum-based material also commonly used in roofing shingles. The difference is the quantity of each used in the mixing. Asphalt is more commonly used for high-traffic roadways that experience heavy truck use and typically contains a higher percentage of bitumen. Blacktop is more commonly used for residential driveways, bike paths, and small commercial projects. It contains a higher percentage of crushed stone. Town and Country Asphalt specializes in sealing both blacktop and asphalt throughout the area. Call (301) 888-5266 for a great price to seal yours!
Benefits of Blacktop Sealcoating
Many residential customers ask us if concrete or blacktop is the better driveway surface. It often comes down to preference. Concrete, as a material for driveways and walkways, has its advantages. Although often more expensive, concrete can be more decorative, especially when stamped concrete is used to create interesting patterns. However, concrete is more prone to cracking and chipping and is not as easy to repair.
Blacktop is heated to a high temperature during the mixing stage, up to 300 degrees. It can withstand harsh temperatures and weather conditions and is more durable than concrete. Although blacktop can also crack and chip under harsh conditions, it is easy to maintain because it can be repaired and resealed season after season at a relatively low cost.
